Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015, Tuberculosis (TB) is a major global health problem, causing millions of people to die each year from TB disease and pulmonary TB is one of the main killers of human immuno deficiency virus (HIV) . By 2014, an estimated 9.6 million Tuberculosis cases, with 5.4 million among new Tuberculosis patients, 3.2 million among women and 1.0 million children. The purpose of the study to determine the relationship of motivation and family support with the compliance of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis follow treatment therapy in the work area of Health centers Kampung Bali city of Bengkulu Year 2018. This research is an analytical research using cross-sectional design. Population in this research is all patient of pulmonary tuberculosis in work area of Kampung Bali Public Health Centers of Bengkulu City in the year 2018 that is as much as 51 people taken by technique Total Sampling. The results showed that univariate analysis showed that few respondents 12 (23,5%) did not follow treatment, and most of the respondents 38 (88,4%) good family motivation While bivariate analysis showed that there was a correlation between motivation and adherence of Tuberculosis patients following treatment therapy (p = 0,001) and There was a relation of family motivation to Tuberculosis patient adherence to treatment (p = 0,000). It is suggested to the Health centers to do counseling about tuberculosis to society, patient or patient family to understand the cause, medication, side effect which may be felt during the treatment and the need for medical treatment regularly.
