Abstract

According to WHO, Tonsillitis is a disease which occurred on children. This incident according to toddler age group is estimated 0,29 episode each children/year in developing country, 0,05 episode each children/year. The purpose of this research is to find Correlation between snack habit and mouth cleaning with tonsillitis incident on 5-19 years old years at Public health Pasar Ikan Bengkulu City in 2018. This research is an analytic research by using cross sectional design. The population in this research are 3.336 patients with age 5-19 years old who visit Public Health Pasar Ikan in 2017 Bengkulu city and 97 respondents are taken by using accidental sampling. Data are divided into primary and secondary data then analyzed by using univariate and bivariate analysis. Univariate analysis shows that almost half of respondents suffer from tonsillitis, almost half of respondents have bad snack habit, more than half of respondents have bad at mouth cleaning. Bivariate analysis shows that there is a correlation between snack habit and mouth cleaning with tonsillitis incident on 5-19 years old children and there is no correlation between having snack habit with tonsillitis incident on 5-19 years old children at Pasar Ikan Public Health in 2018. It is expected to all Pasar Ikan Public Health institution Bengkulu city can increase the counseling to family who have children about healthy life or giving counseling about tonsillitis.
