Abstract

The data from Health Services of Bengkulu City in 2015 showed diarrhea patients reached 3,956 people. The highest data is in the work area of Public Health in Basuki Rahmat as many as 418 people, and the lowest is in the work area of Public Health in Bentiring as many as 52 people. Based on data obtained from Work Area of Public Health in Sukamerindu, the number of children as diarrhea patients in 2015 was 258 people, in 2016 there were 196 people, in 2017 there were 349 people. In 2017 the number of toddler mothers who visited the Work Area of Public Health in Sukamerindu was 3,225 people. This study aims to determine the relationship of environmental sanitation and behavioral of mother with diarrhea cases in toddlers aged 3-5 years in the Work Area of Public Health in Sukamerindu of Bengkulu City in 2018. The research method was used descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was used accidental sampling technique where the sampling is not determined in advance, the researcher immediately collects the data from the sampling unit as many as 97 people.The results of this study revealed that most respondents (70.9%) had good environmental sanitation, almost all respondents (78.4%) with good behavior, almost all respondents (83.5%) did not experience diarrhea. There is a Relationship between Environmental Sanitation (p = 0,000) and Maternal Behavior (p = 0,000) with Diarrhea Casess in Toddlers in the Work Area of Public Health in Sukamerindu of Bengkulu City in 2018. The researchers suggest to the public health that the results of this study can be useful for to the public health as additional information about the relationship of environmental sanitation and maternal behavior with diarrhea cases in toddlers.
