Abstract

This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. This method is employed to elucidate the types of moral values found in the movie "Turning Red" and their characteristics. The data for this research is extracted from the movie "Turning Red," which serves as the research object. The data in this study can be observed through dialogues and actions depicted in the film. As this research is a descriptive qualitative study, the researcher utilizes an observation checklist. The study focuses on identifying the types and characteristics of moral values in the movie "Turning Red." The researcher presents these findings after processing and presenting the data. As stated in the first chapter, the research aims to address two research questions. According to Linda and Eyre (1993), there are two types of moral values, namely the values of being and the values of giving. Both types are further divided into twelve moral values. The researcher discovered 14 scenes of moral values in this study, namely love and affection, self-confidence and potential, self-discipline and moderation, and honesty. Additionally, the researcher also found that there are 9 characteristics of moral values that appear most frequently in this research, namely pure heart, responsibility, and obligation, each with 3 and 2 scenes, respectively.
